To close the MAESTRI Project with a golden key, the final review meeting of this R&D initiative was attended by evaluators from the European Commission, who proved that the overall objectives of the project were fully achieved by the consortium.

The event took place this October at ISQ (Portuguese Institute for Welding and Quality) and the representatives of the European Commission appreciated and approved the work done over the last four years.

We remind that the MAESTRI Project aims to develop a flexible and scalable management system that promotes good industrial and industry 4.0 management practices.

Implementing the Lean culture and Total Efficiency Framework in the production processes of the MCG industry and MCG transportation business units, MCG was one of four real industrial environments of this European initiative.

The validation of the European Commission focused on the results achieved by the industrial partners in these four pillars:

  • LEAN Management System and presentation of the respective LEAN tools developed by the Lean Institute Poland (LEIP).
  • Eco-efficiency: energy and environmental management systems (INEGI).
  • IoT Platform and Intelligent Sensors: applications and demos in real use environment (MicroProcessor, LINK).
  • Industrial Symbiosis: case studies, business impact, and toolkits to use (Cambridge University).
