Project SHIP – MCG mind for metal promotes Solar Thermal industrial application
MCG mind for metal was one of the national and international entities that recently attended the ‘4th Symposium IPES: Solar Concentration and the Future’, an event dedicated to the promotion and evolution of various topics related to Concentrating Solar Energy and energy storage in the form of heat.
The symposium took place in Évora on September 24 and 25, with MCG being represented as the leader of the SHIP project and for the discussion on the applications of that technology, including the production of solar thermal electricity . Under the SHIP project, MCG has developed a turn-key industrial thermal solar system that is based on a modular approach and is designed to simplify the decision-making of small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to invest in a clean and renewable heat process.
The event ended with a visit to the Évora Molten Salt Platform (EMSP) and to the Solar Energy Testing Center where this CPC solar collector developed by MCG is installed.
The SHIP project was also represented at this 4th IPES Symposium by the presence of members of the consortium in the panel of speakers, namely the University of Évora and INEGI – Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management.
