MCG presents new flooring systems for trains and buses at InnoTrans 2018
MCG mind for metal makes its biggest presence ever on InnoTrans 2018 with the presentation at the fair of new flooring system for trains and buses that the business unit MCG transportation is developing for large customers in the transport sector.
MCG’s stand at the largest international technology and innovation fair in this industry draws attention by the interactivity that visitors can establish with the various demonstrations installed in the space, integrated into the Portuguese presence at the event promoted by PFP – Portuguese Railways Platform.
The heated floor that MCG transportation is developing for the driver’s cab of the Prima H4 locomotive, commissioned from Alstom to a Swiss Railways project, is one of the main highlights of MCG at the fair. A smart panel sample is installed on the stand where visitors can touch and feel the heat emitted by the integrated heating system.
This is a technical solution that can be applied to other projects that require heated floors. “In this type of market there are no standard solutions – MCG has the capacity to adapt existing systems to the real needs of the customer, proposing optimizations that allow the complete satisfaction of the desired requirements”, explains Pedro Brilha, the Commercial Director linked to the project.
In the MCG stand at InnoTrans 2018 it is still possible to get to know the integral structural floor that the MCG transportation division is producing for Aptis, the new 100% electric bus that Alstom has already in the final stages of development.
As part of the vehicle’s main resilient structure, this component is developed as a single piece with a length of more than eight meters, which is only possible due to the recognized development and engineering capabilities of the MCG transportation division as well as its specialization in panels of very large size.
Also worthy of note is the metal fabrication, with special emphasis on the assembly of welded structures, being the certified welding EN 15085 one of the specific competencies that MCG applies in the railway industry, namely in HVAC structures.
It is possible to find MCG mind for metal at InnoTrans 2018 in Hall 1.1 / Stand 403, where is also a section of a metal structure in which the various metal development technologies of MCG transportation are presented and exemplified. Demonstrated are the results of advanced laser cutting and punching, bending, welding, assembly, riveting, painting and bonding processes.
MCG will also be represented at InnoTrans 2018 in a stand dedicated to the ModSeat project. For the first time, it will be possible to see the first prototype of this innovative, modular, versatile and highly customizable seat, intended for installation in regional/intercity trains.
