MCG Transportation recently achieved the IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) certification, translated as ISO/TS 22163:2017 standard, the highest certification for quality management systems in the railway industry, equivalent to the IATF standard in the automotive industry.
It applies to the entire supply chain related to the railway industry, including operational planning and control, product and service design and development, management of external supply chains, production, and maintenance, among other critical aspects.
“Having this certification level is a fundamental asset for the future of MCG Transportation’s activities. Apart from MCG, there is only one other company in Portugal certified according to the IRIS reference, which positions MCG as a privileged supplier in the expected development of the railway cluster in the coming years”, tells us Gonçalo Almeida MCG Industry & Transportation Quality Director.
