MAESTRI

The MAESTRI project aims to promote the sustainability of the manufacturing processes industry in Europe. This is achieved by developing a management system as a flexible and scalable platform, guiding and simplifying the implementation of the innovative “Total Efficiency Framework” approach.

The general objective of this framework is to encourage a culture of improvement in the industries, assisting the decision-making process, supporting the development of improvement strategies, and helping to define priorities to improve the company’s environmental and economic performance.

Project problem/motivation

The general objective of this framework is to encourage a culture of improvement in the industries, assisting the decision-making process, supporting the development of improvement strategies, and helping to define priorities to improve the company’s environmental and economic performance.

The solution to achieve

The development and validation of this project is achieved through application in four real industrial environments (MCG is one of them) in a variety of sectors of activity.

Entities involved

Over a four-year period, the project led by ISQ provided useful results grouped into technological results (including innovative eco products, processes, and services adapted to industrial end-users) and structured solutions (involving synergistically combined technical, economic, legislative and political solutions).

The results achieved by the industrial partners are based on these four pillars:

  • LEAN Management System and presentation of the respective LEAN tools developed by the Lean Institute Poland (LEIP).
  • Eco-efficiency: environmental and energy management systems (INEGI).
  • IoT Platform and Intelligent Sensors: applications and demonstrations in an environment of real use (MicroProcessador, LINK).
  • Industrial Symbiosis: case studies, business impact, and toolkits to be used (Cambridge University).
