Once the technical feasibility of producing lighter components (of equal or superior performance compared to metallic components) was demonstrated through the LaTCh project, it was clear that he aim of the Latch II project was to reduce the number of operations necessary to obtain the final component (“one-shot” process ”).
Consequently it aims to reduce equipment, tools and human resources while increasing the complexity of the products through the integration of metallic elements. The reduction in the number of operations will allow a faster rhythm of production and lower costs for each component.
The LaTCh II project aims to add complexity to the technical component associated with these technologies and at the same time being able to do so in an effectively competitive cost with the stamping of metals.
The project is led by Moliporex and MCG is responsible as a specifier and technology adopter.
