At InnoTrans 2024, the world’s largest meeting point for the rail transport and mobility sectors, the MCG Transportation stand presented to the event’s more than 137,000 visitors MCG’s latest innovations as a significant player in developing and manufacturing interior systems for the railway and bus industries.
MCG highlighted the 3W, a new floor heating system developed by the MCG Transportation teams for trains and buses.
The new 3W system offers more efficient heating performance while reducing energy consumption, aligning with the sustainability strategies and carbon footprint reduction goals of leading transportation manufacturers worldwide.
The product to which the 3W system can be applied is a robust plug & play floor for installation in new-generation trains or buses:
- Designed and tested to be maintenance-free for at least 30 years
- Lightweight solution with improved thermal insulation due to the sandwich construction
- Top surface resistant to heavy traffic and point loads
- Use of recycled materials
- All panels are 100% electrically tested before shipment
The new 3W heating system:
- Embedded heating system, fully plug & play
- Very high coverage of the heated area in all panel geometries
- High-temperature homogeneity in the entire heated area
- Fast heating response at start-up
- A shielded system with grounding
- Optionally, it can be equipped with temperature sensors and thermostats
- The power supply can be adapted to different voltages (24, 120, 230, 400, or 680 volts)
The MCG Transportation business division also develops and presents other interior applications for trains and buses.
Portugal had the largest participation ever at InnoTrans, with MCG, several other Portuguese companies, and the Portugal Railways space (PFP—Portuguese Railway Cluster Platform Association).
