On this World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022, MCG congratulates all its Employees on the Safety culture that has been built in the company.

People and their behavior are fundamental elements for the company’s Safety Management System to maintain its coordinated work and evolution strategy. And 2022 brings a very concrete goal: to achieve Safety Certification by the NP ISO 45001:2018 standard.

MCG has defined an action plan with all the necessary measures to achieve this goal, which is assumed as a strategic milestone for the company and will reinforce our main commitment: Safety First!

Annually distinguishes the teams with the best performance in Safety, based on audits carried out throughout the year in all Employees’ workstations.
Regularly conducts inspections of all equipment and machinery.
Constantly reviews the risk assessments for each task and workstation (to ensure that all Employees are equipped with the appropriate protective equipment for the tasks they perform on a daily basis).
Reinforces certified training in safe behaviors.
Promotes Safety Dialogues with all teams to integrate safety issues into their routines.
Hires external services to monitor aspects such as thermal comfort in the factories, exposure to vibrations at the workstations, and exposure to optical radiation.
Consults all Employees on Occupational Health and Safety issues, in order to identify new points for improvement (and in compliance with the 18º article
of the 102/2009 Law in Portugal). In 2021, among other information collected, 94% of Employees believe MCG fulfills its obligations in terms of Safety and Health at work, with adequate conditions in each place/workstation.
Maintains an Occupational Health Program with consultations and exams, closely monitoring the health status of its Employees.
Maintains constant investment in Safety and Health at work. Since 2018, this investment has exceeded 1.3 million euros.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022

World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated around the world on April 28, and MCG is no exception. However, at MCG every day is a Safety First day.

The International Labor Organization’s call is clear: “we must act together to build a positive culture in health and safety.” This is a motto fully adopted by MCG, an organization where there is already a collective awareness of Safety, which makes us all very proud and certain that we are on the right path.

The entire company, and in particular the MCG Safety Team, would like to thank all Employees for the active and conscientious way they face their own Safety and the Safety of those around them every day.
