MCG continues to strengthen its presence in the railway interiors manufacturing sector: it is confirmed that MCG Transportation will be responsible for the development and production of the flooring, air ducts, and structural ceiling of the new Lohr Draisy, a lightweight rail vehicle designed to bring abandoned railway lines across Europe back to life.

At the heart of this new MCG Transportation project is the engineering, technology, and expertise applied to the development and production of the vehicle’s structural ceiling.

This is a unique structure nearly 11 meters long, made of lightweight composite materials and manufactured using robotized production cells.

This structural ceiling will also include integrated air ducts produced by MCG — a solution developed and tested by the MCG Evolab teams.

MCG will also supply the 11-meter flooring system for the Lohr Draisy, bringing to the project its proven experience in the development and production of train and bus flooring systems.

The Draisy is being developed by Lohr in partnership with SNCF, the French national railway operator, which will deploy this lightweight vehicle to serve abandoned railway lines and provide more efficient public transport for rural communities.

Combining advanced engineering, innovative materials and high production capacity, MCG Transportation takes another solid step in affirming its position as a trusted supplier to the railway industry.
