Some projects mark a new stage in the global automotive industry – the Volkswagen ID.EVERY1 is one of them. MCG Automotive will be part of this new generation of mobility, having been nominated to produce several parts and assemblies for the body structure of the new electric model that will be manufactured and assembled at Volkswagen Autoeuropa in Palmela, Portugal.
With series production scheduled to begin in September 2027 and an estimated lifecycle extending to 2034, the project will support average annual production volumes of approximately 100,000 vehicles.
For MCG, this is a demanding industrial challenge, involving the production of metal components and assemblies through stamping, welding and surface treatment processes, as well as the development of tooling dedicated exclusively to this project.
Tecnology and robotization
The technologies involved in the project reflect MCG’s industrial DNA: stamping up to 3,300ton, spot welding and cathodic dip painting (KTL), in processes that combine engineering, robotization, automation and specialised technical expertise:
- Engineering support and co-development, from concept to industrialisation
- Stamping up to 3,300ton
- Spot welding and robotic welding systems
- Cathodic dip painting (KTL)
- Integrated quality assurance and control processes
These processes ensure high levels of quality, durability and structural integration within the vehicle body.
Industrial integration and logistics
The project also includes implementing an advanced logistics solution to ensure synchronized supply to the Volkswagen Autoeuropa assembly line.
This approach follows the most demanding standards of the automotive industry, ensuring production efficiency, supply chain reliability and just-in-time delivery requirements.
