MCG is developing a kiosk-style workstation cabinet for a wide range of purposes in next-generation factories.
As part of the Produtech R3 mobilizing agenda activities, this is a development and production project of a complete kiosk-style workstation cabinet for use in a 4.0 factory environment.
MCG ensures the production of the metal structure of this system, assembly, as well as the customized software development to ensure its operation.
Three different models of his product will allow a computer solution to be utilized in different production stations. The structure of the kiosk includes various configurations, such as a workbench or computer stand.
A customized, internally developed software by MCG´s IT department, integrates several tools and functionalities into a single platform. “This easily installed and maintained computerized solution makes it possible to ensure the digital solution makes It possible to ensure the digital and physical security of the equipment”, explains Ricardo Santos, IT Manager at MCG.
Engineers Filipe Cruz and Pedro Navarro explain that “from a product perspective, this project enables several MCG teams to collaborate in a development process from design to manufacturing, resulting in a consistent product in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and implementation in the factories”.
This is an R&D project developed by MCG and several other companies that are part of the consortium of work under the mobilizing agenda PRODUTECH R3 and Digital4Circular, a program aimed at creating, implementing, and demonstrating solutions for sustainability and circularity based on digitization in an industrial environment.
The PRODUTECH R3 project – Agenda Mobilizadora da Fileira das Tecnologias de Produção para a Reindustrialização, is funded by the European Union under the NextGeneration EU program through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
