MCG and all the MCG Automotive teams are proud to have contributed to achieving the milestone of 1 million VW T-Roc cars produced in Portugal by Volkswagen Autoeuropa.
The Portuguese factory in Palmela recently announced the production of the ‘VW T-Roc 1 Million’, destined for a customer in Australia, each of these units having in its structure metallic components produced at MCG..
These components form a Reinforcement – “C” Pillar, a set produced by the MCG Automotive teams using the most advanced processes and certified technologies, in a production volume that reaches 1,600 units per day..
This high supply volume and the characteristics of this set require a 3,300-ton press to stamp the metal components, then finalized in robotic cells through spot welding and structural adhesives application processes.
Volkswagen Autoeuropa started the T-Roc production in the second half of 2017, counting from the beginning with MCG component supply. In 2018, the Palmela unit reached its annual production record: around 221,000 manufactured units.
